1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and ARCHETYPE ORIGIN DYNAMICS INC. (“we”, “us”) for using Veralyt. By creating an account or using Veralyt, you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

2. What Veralyt does, and doesn't

Veralyt helps self-employed people, landlords and small corporations in Canada (outside Québec) organize their records and prepare figures for the T2125, the T776, GIFI schedules and GST/HST returns. The tax estimator gives estimates only.

Veralyt doesn't file tax returns, and it isn't tax, legal or accounting advice. Check the figures, or have an accountant review them, before you file. You are responsible for what you file with the Canada Revenue Agency.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18. Keep your email and your sign-in methods secure, and tell us at support@veralyt.com if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Your records

Your records stay yours. You let us store and process them to run Veralyt, including through the providers listed in our privacy policy. Upload only records you're entitled to use.

5. Suggestions can be wrong

Category suggestions, what Veralyt reads from statements and receipts, and Ask answers can be wrong. A suggestion counts only once you confirm it; check before you rely on it.

6. Accountant links and receipts by email

• A link gives anyone who has it read-only access to that tax year and its downloads until it expires or you turn it off. Share it only with people you trust; you're responsible for who you give it to.
• We accept emailed receipts only from your own address, and only when your email provider signs the message (DKIM). We may reject other mail.

7. Plans, payment and cancelling

• Veralyt has a free plan and paid plans (Pro and Business), described on our home page.
• Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus GST/HST. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel.
• Cancel anytime in Settings. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for. We don't give partial refunds, except where the law requires them.
• We give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change, and it applies from your next renewal.

8. Fair use

Don't use Veralyt for anything illegal, try to reach other people's data, disrupt the service, or test its security without our written permission.

9. Changes

We improve Veralyt continually and may change or remove features; during the beta, expect occasional errors and downtime. Before a significant change to these terms takes effect, we email account holders. If you keep using Veralyt after that, the new terms apply. If we ever close Veralyt, we email you at least 60 days before, so you can download your records.

10. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.

11. Limits of our liability

As far as the law allows, Veralyt is provided as is, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for taxes, penalties or interest that result from what you file. Our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario decide disputes, subject to any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
